How long does it usually take to get hired?

Once you are done with college, and out on the job hunt, how long does it tend to take to find a job in your field? I imagine it depends on the area, and other factors. How long do most doctors take to land their job?

It's happening, there will be pills to fight off covid

Yes, this is great news. I guess some drug makers have made a pill that is very effective at fighting covid. This is great news for those who are dealing with covid, as they will now be able to take medication for the virus. Does this mean we don't need the vaccine? Or is it recommended that we stil...

Re: Do you dorm with other medical students?

I think it depends on the college. I'm sure some colleges will have dorms. I believe most colleges pair you with people taking the same major as well. So you should be paired with a medical student.

Re: Should we wait for more testing before giving kids the vaccine?

I'm going to wait a bit, but I think we should eventually have the kids get vaccinated. I think if it's fine for adults and it's been tested properly and the FDA says it's good, I will consider it.

Re: How long do most doctors stick with the job?

That's a good question. I think well until retirement age. I'm positive it's sometime in the 60s or whenever they want to after turning 60 something. I know for my dad, he retired at 65, and that was the age he had to go to get the best out of his retirement. But I also hear that depending on when y...

Re: Having to constantly wash your hands annoying?

I think we'd have to just get used to it. We have to be clean when seeing patients. Hand sanitizer are in most doctors offices. They'll sometimes use soap and water. But for the most part, I don't hear many complain about dry hands or anything. But I imagine they do get dry hands, rashes and other c...

What do you say to people who self diagnose themselves?

I am someone who self diagnosis myself all the time. I still go to the doctors whenever I need to be sure though. I always tell them what I think it could be, but not what it is. Because I don't know.

Anyway, what do you say to those who are set on what they had diagnosed themselves?

Alternative Medicine

Do any doctors promote alternative medicine? I honestly don't really believe in that kind of stuff. I think acupuncture is nice, but idk if I'd qualify it as anything medical. I mean, it never really did much for me. But, do you think some alternative medicine works?

Do you get enough sleep?

Being a doctor or working anywhere in the medical field has to be a burden on a lot of us. And some of that burden may lie with your sleep patterns. Do you get enough sleep as a doctor, or any other medical practitioner?

Re: Possible to shadow school nurse?

I don't think that would be allowed. Considering patients would be children, they wouldn't allow any other student to shadow a nurse. That would be highly inappropriate and would be a serious privacy concern. When it comes to shadowing an actual doctor, this student would have had years of schooling...
